Though the magazine was released months ago, Kim Kardashian's reality show "Kourtney & Kim Take New York" has sparked renewed interest - and controversy - over her nude November spread in W. In the issue, the most-photographed Kardashian posed nude and covered in nothing but silver body paint for a spread that she hoped would be tasteful.
When the final photos came out, though, Kardashian was less than pleased, sobbing, "This is serious porn!"
"You can see nipple, you can see my ass crack. Oh my god, I'm more naked here than I was in my 'Playboy'," she continued, saying she felt "so taken advantage of."
The magazine has now responded to Kardashian's reaction, insisting that the shots were tasteful and that they didn't mislead her.
"In keeping in line with the theme of W Magazine's November Art Issue, Kim Kardashian's cover was conceived as an artistic collaboration with well-known artist Barbara Kruger, and was a meditation on the influence that reality TV has on contemporary culture," reads a statement. "The inside portfolio documented the career and power of Kim Kardashian as a work of art, using the language of artists like Jeff Koons and Gilbert & George."
There are an awful lot of big words in there. No wonder Kardashian was a bit confused.
