I have had the most wonderful half term, and it's not over yet.
We have spent a lot of time with our nearest and dearest family and friends, had lots of day trips(and been blessed with beautiful weather) , pottered in the house and in the afternoons and evenings snuggled under a blanket by the fire knitting....
Every day has been wonderful, sometimes relaxing, sometimes creative sometimes filled with laughter and others...just perfect....
which brings me to the latest love of my life...
I am sorry to be so materialistic...but I just love this coat to bits, I have spent two years looking for a Harris tweed jacket/ coat...and at last I have found this one in a vintage shop in Haworth...and it was worth the wait...in perfect condition... and fits like a glove...all for £30!!!
it has now been dry cleaned and I have added these wonderful wooden buttons bought in a junk shop in Germany this summer and polished and restored by my Dad....don't they look wonderful...?
I have added two to the cuff and one on the back....and this year I have knitted poppies for the family...backed with a vintage blanket and behind that is vintage fabric and a vintage cloth button to finish.
My needles have been clicking too, I have been making socks for the family for Christmas and my first commission for my friend Vanessa who looks after all our beauty needs at her beauty salon.
Vanessa asked for a palate of pink with shades of chocolate and brown...

I have used a merino and alpaca mix and Rowan Donegal Tweed in pink....oh dear, it's going to be hard to give it up.....
it's actually growing on me now! I will show you it when its been painted.
I also thought I would share Sweet Peas birthday cardigan...this was a real labour of love...I stayed up till 2.30am on the eve of her birthday to try and finish it,I failed so I then awoke, bleary eyed at 5.30am to finish it for her to wear on her birthday....
I couldn't face the 38 heart shaped buttons which needed to be sewn on!
My lovely Mum in Law did this for me last night....
well I had to buy it didn't I?
We also had a lovely day out in Hebden Bridge, one of my favourite places...and at the market I found a red Mulberry handbag for £15, it matches my coat perfectly, another job for Dad and his polish.
It's such a lovely place, beautiful scenery and packed with amazing shops and gallery's with irresistible and creative products,
I always spend a fortune....
I never tire of the drive over to Hebden, my beautiful Yorkshire, I love the wild and bleak moors, my imagination runs riot and I can see Heathcliff and Cathy running in the bracken...
Its been a lovely week, lots of happy memories to store up for the winter...time with family and friends making and doing, travels in my beloved little green van...and it's not over yet...tomorrow the little green van is taking a trip to Haworth again to see an instillation in the parsonage by Su Blackwell....
Much to be thankful for.....
